#BrainFactMonday โ€“ What Makes It So Difficult To Embrace Change? [Part 1]

๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ โ€“ if you also find it daunting and struggle to embrace it, this hashtag#BrainFactMonday ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐Ÿญ is for you.

Well, actually... it's not ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ finding it daunting; it's ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐—ฏ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐Ÿง . There's absolutely nothing wrong with you if you feel scared, overwhelmed, or even terrified by change.

Let me tell you what happens, and hopefully, knowing what happens ๐—ฏ๐—ฒ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐˜€๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜€ will make feel better about yourself and more inclined to embrace change.

A change, by definition, brings ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐˜๐˜†, no matter how exciting it may sound. The brain perceives uncertainty as a potential threat, so it reacts to it as it would while facing a real danger โ˜ ๏ธ, and that is trying to save our life by either keeping you away from it or by activating a series of reactions that you then perceive as "๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ".

These reactions include tensing your body, sending all the energy to your limbs rather than your brain (preventing you from thinking clearly) and preparing you to fight, flight, or freeze.๐ŸฅŠ

So what you perceive as "๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ถ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฐ๐—ฒ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ" is actually your sอŸuอŸrอŸvอŸiอŸvอŸaอŸlอŸ อŸmอŸeอŸcอŸhอŸaอŸnอŸiอŸsอŸmอŸ อŸiอŸnอŸ อŸaอŸcอŸtอŸiอŸoอŸnอŸ, and you should celebrate that it works so well. It's the reason you're still alive. ๐Ÿ˜€

Now, in order to reduce that "resistance," you need to have frameworks, tools, and techniques that will help you do that โ€“ and that's the content of the next ๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—™๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐˜๐— ๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†.

For now, just relax knowing there's nothing wrong with you, your reaction is absolutely normal and healthy, it just needs to be managed properly.
