Change Your Career Without Regret
Posted on 2nd June 2023
I often get hired by clients based on these few words: "I resonate with your story".
Which sounds like this:
☑️ Working like a Human Doing rather than a Human Being? Checked.
☑️ Feeling trapped in a 9 to 5 golden cage? Checked.
☑️ Being exhausted at the end of each day? Checked.
It looks like these were not just my daily boxes but also those of thousands of other executives that feel trapped in their corporate roles. If you're one of them, here's how you should think about your career transition:
1 - 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗽𝘂𝗿𝘀𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀-at-work: too volatile. Strive for a sense of aliveness instead. 🔅
2 - "𝗔𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀" 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳-𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. If your current role doesn't allow you to express your gifts, values and vision you will never feel alive there.
3 - Where else will you feel alive at work, then? 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 "𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴" 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀.
Rediscover who you are today, what your gifts are, what is really important to you, how you function and how your body responds to certain stimuli. All this will tell you what career path will make you feel alive. The right career path for you is the one where you can 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼.
That is THE DOING IS A PLATFORM FOR YOU TO EXPRESS YOUR BEING.
If, like me, you spent many years 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 it's just normal that you have no idea who you are today.
So take a break, stop thinking about a career transition and start by rediscovering who you are today. The rest will follow and will be much easier when you have a clear compass showing you the way.
Read here how Sara, Federico, Timi and many more have changed their careers following this principle.
