Hey there,
It's Bruna here, happy weekend!
In this week's issue, I share with you a much-needed tool to help you set your boundaries at work and in your private life. There's a lot of talking about boundaries out there, but very little is said about HOW to set them up and communicate them clearly and respectfully in your own specific context.
This step-by-step guide will help you build clear and respected boundaries. It will take you about 3 minutes and 44 seconds to read it (plus 30 minutes of a free webinar) and you'll walk away with:
- Clarity on what's really important to you and how to protect it
- Clear boundaries at work and in your personal life
- Tips on how to communicate them without sounding arrogant or selfish
Enjoy!

Lack of boundaries: one of the most common problems in western society.
Would you have ever guessed that being bloated can be caused by the lack of boundaries? And that the same can be said for symptoms of anxiety and depression? Poor boundary-setting skills also contribute to the constant race against time, lack of fulfilment, lack of confidence, and indecision.
A study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology shows that people with poor boundary-setting skills are prone to anxiety and depression; another study by the University of California shows that they're more stressed, experiencing headaches and digestive issues as a result. Another study by the University of Georgia shows that couples with no clear boundaries experience more conflict and are less satisfied in their relationships.
Bottom line, if you don't learn how to set and maintain clear boundaries NOW, you risk:
- Living someone else's life
- Developing resentment and a passive-aggressive attitude towards others
- Overwhelm and burnout
- A lack of respect
- Confusion and conflict
- Reduced productivity
- Damage to relationships
- Serious implications for your mental and emotional well-being
- ...and the worst: teaching your children that putting others' needs first is the right way to live
The Solution
To set your boundaries, you need to know yourself well first and be 100% clear about what it is that you need to protect.
To help you do so, you can download for free a precious resource that helps you discover what's important to you, that is your VALUES; it will help you discover what you're not protecting right now and how to change that.
Hint: When your values aren't clear it's too easy to dishonour them and this is the most common cause of unfulfilment, detachment and resentment.

When you land on the Resources page, click on the tab "Downloadable Resources" and have the "Discover Your Values, Make The Right Decisions" workbook sent straight to you!
IMPORTANT: if you're a parent, you surely want to set your kids up for a healthy, balanced and fulfilled life, right? Rest assured, they can only learn how to set healthy boundaries from you. They'll model what you do, so the investment you make in this work will have a direct, positive impact on their lives. So well done for giving it a go!
Once you've discovered what's important to you (aka your values and how you currently honour them), you'll have to reflect on your current boundaries (those you have but perhaps take for granted) and use this consciousness to realise that you do have the ability to set them up and get them respected.
